OUR TEAM

Sam Blyth was educated at Pembroke College, Cambridge BA(Hons) MA and is a Fellow Commoner of the College and member of the Vice Chancellor’s Circle. He is trustee of the National Museum of Natural History of the Smithsonian Institution and the Founder and former CEO of Blyth Academy, Canada’s leading private school group by enrolment. He has been a regular visitor to Bhutan since 1988 and is a member of the National Order of Merit (Gold) and Honorary Consul from Bhutan to Canada.

Sonam Rinchen had an extensive career in the Royal Government of Bhutan and has held numerous positions in the Bhutanese civil service including a term as the Dzongda of Trongsa Region. He superannuated in 2018 after 35 years of successful tenure in service of Tsawa Sum (The King, Country and the People).

Stephen joined the BCF team in September 2019. His previous work includes, Program Director for Outward Bound and several positions in public and private philanthropy. He was a founding director and Chair of the Circle on Philanthropy and Aboriginal Peoples in Canada, an advisor to Ashoka Canada and Futurpreneur and is currently a member of the World Trails Network. He holds a degree in International Development and a Masters in Environmental Studies.

Rabsel Dorji is an entrepreneur and consultant in the tourism industry. He is currently a Board Director at the Association of Bhutanese Tour Operators, representing over 500 members. He previously taught at the Royal Thimphu College and worked for the Asian Development Bank in Bhutan and the United Nations in Geneva. He holds an MBA from the University of Geneva, Switzerland, and a BA from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi.

Pema Drukpa joined the Trans Bhutan Trail in December, after previously representing the Tourism Council of Bhutan. Pema works as a Project Manager with the Bhutan Canada Foundation and the Trail. He manages trail refurbishment and maintenance, coordinating work in 27 gewogs and one National Park. Pema graduated with a B.SC in BioChemistry from St. Josephs College Darjeeling India. He previously served as a Member of Parliament from 2013 to 2018 from Gasa Dzongkhag, as well as a tour guide. Hobbies like trekking and interacting with the local Communities.

Tshering Dolkar is the Marketing Manager for the Trans Bhutan Trail. She recently completed her MBA from the University of Canberra, Royal Institute of Management Campus, Thimphu, Bhutan. Over a period of ten years, Tshering has worked in both the public and the private sectors and is excited to begin her marketing career at TBT. Tshering focuses on developing our marketing strategy and campaign planning and execution. She enjoys creating content with her team and passionately promoting the historical and cultural importance of the Trail.

Singay Dradul graduated from Royal Thimphu College with Bachelors in Business Administration majoring in marketing. Since then he has worked for various organizations to his fullest capacity. He was the German Correspondent for Absolute Bhutan Travel followed by Marketing Assistant for Bhutan Spirit Sanctuary. Later he began his career in the tourism industry as a full time German Speaking Guide. Singay currently takes care of Research for Trans Bhutan Trail.

Sonam Palden is a graphic designer and earned her bachelor's degree in BSc Animation and VFX from Sharda University ( India ) Sonam enjoys hiking, videography and art.

Karma has joined Trans Bhutan Trail with a wealth of travel industry experience, especially in the Bhutanese and Regional market. She has a keen interest in dealing with people and communicating with them. Karma is someone who has a positive nature and a healthy attitude towards life.

Renuka has been part of the tourism industry since 1994. An avid nature lover, she resonates with tourism products that are green, sustainable, inclusive of local communities and those that least disturb all that is natural. Renuka is also a Yog & Pranayam practitioner & instructor. She believes that the core of her existence comes from her varied experiences.

Yoedcham completed her Bachelor of Commerce at Deakin University, Australia, with a double major in Management & Finance. She enjoys going to the gym, playing basketball and hiking. She is also very fond of travelling and trying out new cuisines.
